Police operatives have arrested 73 suspects during coordinated raids across the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), targeting criminal hideouts and drug hubs in a late-night operation on Monday, April 21, 2025.

The raids, led by the Anti-Narcotic Unit and divisional officers from Kabusa, Tungan Maje, Jabi, Apo, Nyanya, Kubwa, Karshi, and Karmo, focused on uncompleted buildings and notorious hotspots. Intelligence sources confirmed that officers recovered large quantities of dried leaves suspected to be cannabis (Indian hemp) and other illicit substances during the sweep.

“The operation aimed to disrupt drug trafficking networks and dismantle criminal safe havens,” a security official disclosed. “Suspects are undergoing screening at their respective divisions. Those linked to criminal activities will face prosecution.”

Authorities emphasized their commitment to curbing drug abuse and crime in the FCT, vowing to sustain intensified operations. “This is part of our broader strategy to restore safety and order,” a police spokesperson stated.

As of press time, the identities of the suspects and specifics of the recovered drugs remain undisclosed.
