Samuel Nwanosike, a politician from Rivers State, has spoken out about the ongoing political crisis between Governor Siminalayi Fubara and former Governor Nyesom Wike. During an interview with News Central TV, Nwanosike said that while Fubara has made some efforts to bring peace, his actions don’t match his words.

Nwanosike confirmed that Fubara recently visited Wike in an attempt to settle their differences. However, he said that many people who supported the political movement felt betrayed. According to him, some of these people have lost their businesses and even their properties because of the crisis.

He explained that peace cannot happen if only a few people are involved in talks. There are many people who helped build this political family, he said. They should all be called to the table to talk and agree on a way forward.

Nwanosike also criticized Fubara’s supporters for holding regular protests in Port Harcourt, saying that this doesn’t help the situation. “You [Fubara] cannot come and tell us that you’re seeking peace when your supporters are protesting every day in the streets of Port Harcourt,” he stated. “They even bring old women from villages and make them go half-naked during protests. People are also being insulted online.”
