Nigeria:National Librarian/CEO Pays Courtesy Visit to Executive Secretary, Tetfund

 

The National Librarian/CEO, Prof. Chinwe V. Anunobi recently paid a courtesy visit to the Executive Secretary/CEO of Tertiary Education Trust Fund.

Prof. Anunobi informed her host that the visit was aimed to show appreciation to Tetfund for the interest and decision to complete the National Library Headquarters which has become a shame and embarrassment to the the knowledge base of Africa. She further informed that Nigerians conduct a lot of researches and NLN stands out to collate and reposit all resources emanating from Nigeria, preserves them and makes them accessible to researchers/users at all times.

The NL/CEO also use the opportunity to thank the Tetfund Chief Executive for his assistance in ensuring that their special intervention on publication is limited to books with ISSN/ISBN. She therefore, appealed to the Executive Secretary to use his good offices to ensure that such books are deposited with the NLN after publication.

Responding, the Executive Secretary/ CEO, Prof. Suleiman Elias Bogoro informed his guest that engagement meetings is still on-going to review the project. He assured, that although the intervention may take much longer because of financial involvement, they will be guided by BPP biddings when resources is made available. He assured the National Librarian that efforts are on ground to ensure that the project is executed.
