Farewell As Obiano Set to Vacate Agu Awka,

……..Reactions trails the piece “Willie Obiano: Bye Bye….Bye” written by Harris Chuma-Odili

From: Chief Sam Nwosu, CEO, MARBLE ARCH HOTELS LTD, AWKA

Comr Chuma, a none sycophantic individual who calls a spade a spade no matter whose ox is gored, this for me is another apt description of my dear friend Ogene. I have immense respect and admiration for such people, especially when they belong to the noble but very effective governance and society changing profession like the 4th realm.

Yes, these very admirable and respected people of the profession can be tagged “time bomb” because they can choose to be recalcitrant if you are unwise enough to cross their path negatively.

Our dear outgoing governor, His Excellency Chief Willy Obiano was very right when he aptly albeit humorously informed his odience that our dearest “Ogene na ara onu, the one and only Eze Ogbono” is a “time bomb”. I remember a few years ago when I was tought the meaning of “mpiawa azu” a nomenclature I was at the time not conversant with😃😃 Of course as a smart Alec that I pride myself of being , if I may say so myself, I was able to maneuver out of the tight corner to my utter relief. 😀

Let me specially thank you Ogene for this beautiful well deserved eulogy on our dear Obiano and his very supportive and very effective wife, her Excellency Ebelechukwu Obiano.

I whole heartedly join you in recognizing the wonderful and very successful stewardship of our dear Akpokuo dike at the helm of affairs of our dear state in the past eight years which will come to a glorious end on the 17th of March 2022.

For me, since government is a continuum, we must be pragmatic in our appraisal of each of our leaders performance. I must recognize and appreciate Akpokuo and his team for leaving us with very fantastic legacy projects that we and our children for generations to come will enjoy. (1) Security of lives and properties of ndi Anambra for 7 plus years until recently when security challenges of strange dimensions reared its ugly head. (2) The Anambra airport. (3) The 13000 seater international conference center. And the completion of other important projects left by his predecessor. Akpokuo as a man of honour kept his promise to hand over to our in-coming governor Prof. CC Soludo and his young and viberant deputy Dr Ibezim, this also is worthy of commendation.

As I join you and millions of reasonable and pragmatic ndi Anambra to bid Akpokuo and his team farewell, I wish them successful future endeavors, I thank the team immensely for their worthy contributions to the development of our dear state. May God guide, gaurd and bless them. Amen.
