Bayelsa Governor’s Wife, Her Excellency Patience Ama Zuofa Diri becomes a High Court Judge as His Majesty, King Alfred Diete-Spiff and Her Majesty, Queen Josephine Diete-Spiff graces the ceremony

The Swearing in ceremony of four newly-appointed High Court Judges in Bayelsa State was in the presence of highly placed dignitaries within the society on Thursday and the Oath administered by the Governor, Senator Douye Diri was witnessed by the Chief Judge of Bayelsa State,Justice Kate Abiri.

Also present to celebrate with the Governor’s wife is Their Majesties, King and Queen Diete-Spiff, The Amayanabo of Twon-Brass Kingdom and His Queen.

Others honoured alongside Her Excellency, Patience Ama Zuofa Diri includes Lockie James Benimo, Simon Warikiyei Amaduobogha and Christine Irigha Kombo-Enegesi.

They took their oath of office at the Executive Council Chambers of the Government House, Yenagoa, where Governor Diri urged them to be above board in the discharge of their sacred duties.

“I once again congratulate the newly sworn-in judges on your appointment. Indeed, as you assume your respective high and exalted offices as judges of the High Court, I urge you to serve the people of Bayelsa with unfailing zeal and commitment.

“Let your actions and decisions be steered solely on unprejudiced and faithful application of the constitution and our written laws, our ethics and values as a people and the superseding interest of justice. May God continue to bless Bayelsa State, and the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” he said.

Speaking with journalist at the swearing in ceremony, Her Majesty, Queen (Dame) Josephine Diete-Spiff says,”I congratulate and Celebrate with her Excellency, Justice Ama Zoufa Diri at her swearing in ceremony as Judge of the High Court in Bayelsa State.

Your Excellency, it’s a position well deserved and a hope for the common man, of which you have always shown interest before your accession as her Excellency.

We know you will administer Justice and I pray the good Lord give you the auction to function in this new assignment.

Our duty is to stand with you in prayers. Congratulations and more heights await your Excellency. Keep up the good work and God’s blessings always.”

The swearing-in ceremony was also witnessed by the Deputy Governor, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Abraham Ingobere, judges, senior lawyers, including Mr. Kemeasuode Wodu (SAN), other top government functionaries, as well as families and friends of the new judges.
